Presidential Election Petition Tribunal: Democracy Has Come To Stay In Nigeria -Hon. Taiwo Oluga

The Lawmaker representing Irewole/Ayedaade/Isokan federal constituency, Hon. (Mrs) Taiwo Oluga has congratulated President Muhammad Buhari over the victory at the presidential election petition tribunal.

In a release personally signed and made available to news men, the Gbongan born politician lauded the judiciary for living up to expectations despite the threat and blackmail from the opposition. “No doubt, democracy has come to stay with today’s judgement by the tribunal”.

It will be recalled that the opposition party, the Peoples’ Democratic Party and her candidate, Alh. Atiku Abubakar have challenged the outcome of the presidential election which saw president Muhammad Buhari as the winner.

“It is empirical evidence that our party, the All Progressive Congress remains the only popular and accepted party by well meaning Nigerians, hence we are not going take this for granted. We promise to bring succour to the downtrodden and raise more millionaires in no distant time. We are committed to this”.

The judicial officers who gave a unanimous judgement did a critical analysis of the proceedings which took them almost nine hours before the judgement was finally handed down in favor of President Buhari and APC.

“I want to use this medium to congratulate our amiable president and our national leaders over this landmark judgement. Also, I want to implore all the party faithfuls to remain committed to the party. However, we should all rise to support government at all levels in order to achieve the next level agenda of the federal government under the leadership of president Muhammadu Buhari” she concluded.
